Primary Responsibilities

This position works within a focused Sales Team responsible for providing the sales effort to support the NAM SGS Industrial Services. This position acts under general supervision of the Business Manager, NAM, Industrial Services. Follow Training SOP for training and training records.

Specific responsibilities

1. Responsible for achieving a minimum of 100% of yearly forecasted revenue target. 2. Interact with the industry though meetings with customers, prospects, vendors and associations at their facilities and at trade conferences to: • Determine business trends that may positively or negatively affect our business • Identify service opportunities and promote acceptance of our laboratory services • Monitor the activity of our clients and competition to recommend opportunities to differentiate and grow our services • Maintain close links with major prospects to further increase our market base and sales 3. Perform annual customer surveys with respect to service performance and how we may improve or adjust our services to meet their future needs 4. Conduct follow up visits or inquiries with new accounts to ensure our industrial services meet their expectations. Foster relationship with customers with open dialogue 5. Submit a written report to the Business Manager on a weekly basis summarizing the marketing and sales activities 6. Assist the Business Manager with the preparation of quotes, marketing and sales materials, sales plans and sale information relating to budgets and forecasts. 7. Present and represent SGS at National, Regional and Local trade shows to build SGS Brand awareness and broaden the market and client base. 8. Ensures the fulfillment of internal and external requirements for packages, handbooks, promo items etc. 9. Ensures that personal and staff health & safety, environment, productivity, and quality priorities are addressed and optimized in accordance with all regulations and company policies. 10. May be assigned special or related ad hoc projects from time-to-time within the group or company.

Profile

• A college or university diploma/degree in biological/pharmaceutical/chemical sciences or a related field. Further education in sales/marketing is an asset. • Minimum 3 years of previous working experience in a Sales related role is required.

Skills

Specific technical skills: • Sales experience in an analytical or service based industry is preferred. • Knowledge of the Canadian and North American Industrial Services market is a strong asset. • The incumbent must be a self-motivated to meet deadlines and have a strong level of attention to detail. • He/she must be able to multitask and meet deadlines and be a responsive problem solver. • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner. • Speed reading and strong internet research skills are required. • Candidates must be proficient in using various type of computer software including Microsoft Office applications such as spreadsheet and word-processing software. This would include a high-level proficiency of Word, Excel and intermediate PowerPoint. (Not required, but desirable software experience includes ACT, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop). • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment. • The incumbent must have demonstrated time and project management skills and organizational skills to complete a selection of tasks on multiple timelines. • Demonstrates excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills including grammar and composition in English • Ability to work well with others & independently. • Works well under pressure. • Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies. • Appropriate attitude, constant vigilance, attention to detail and following Training SOP for training and training records.
