A day in the life of an Accounts Payable Associate at SGS Canada:

  • This position is responsible for processing day-to-day transaction in the Accounts Payable Department.  In addition to fulfilling the technical and transactional responsibilities, this position must ensure full compliance with internal control, GAAP, and all other regulations applicable
  • Process iExpense submitted by employees.
  • Process Vendor invoices, match with Purchase Orders.
  • Process cheque requests from various departments and locations.
  • Respond to incoming requests from internal and external sources.
  • Weekly match cheques and EFT remittances with invoices.
  • Weekly filing of paid invoices.
  • Enforcement of company policies.
  • Assist in the testing and implementation of financial system upgrades.
  • Data Compilation for Corp Sustainability and updating the Carbon Disclosure, Training and Donations worksheets
  • Assign special or ad hoc projects as required.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Education:  College education or equivalent
  • Experience A minimum of 3 years of previous working experience in Accounts Payable is required.
  • Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential. 
  • Accurate data entry.
  • Proficient in using various types of computer software (Oracle, Word, Excel. PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
