MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB


Responsible for setting the business strategy for the Transportation Sector in Southern Africa, grow all transportation business service offerings by pro-actively and re-actively, selling and promoting the product ranges on offer, to relevant industry sectors in Southern Africa, with the prime objectives of meeting the divisional budget by obtaining new clients and growing the portfolio of existing clients. This will be achieved by compliance to all relevant SOP’s.
This position will be responsible for pioneering the growth of our global Transportation Solutions in Southern Africa. The portfolio encapsulates auditing and testing solution components that are currently positioned in other SGS regions. This is a newly created role with the intention of developing and growing new business opportunities in Southern Africa.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all duties in accordance with the SGS Statement of Integrity.
Compliance to all relevant SGS South Africa operational quality policies and procedures.
Familiarisation with Transportation Sector service offerings processes and practices.
Identify, engage and prospect market opportunities across Manufacturers and OEM’s in demand of SGS Services and Solutions.
Present technological solutions and services confidently to Executives.
Work Closely with Global Technical Teams on all technology related aspects of the solution by coordinating bids, solution development and alignment. Employ a ‘sell with’ approach.

Responsibility for owning the opportunity with the local services and global technical delivery team in a supporting role.
Leads the QA process from conception through to deal approval.
Leads technical questions and objections by clarifying, emphasizing and working through difference to a positive conclusion.
Conduct documented sales planning as per KPI’s targets set by Transportation Business Manager.
Implement the Transportation Sales Plan, supported by KPI’s.
Promoting Transportation audits and testing services to potential customers.
Focus on the needs of customers with a specific drive to sign a Contract with relevant service level agreements.
Ensure targets for proposals, client’s visits, sales of new clients and sales revenue for the Transportation solutions are achieved.
Follow-up on all proposals in accordance with divisional Sales policies and procedures.
Becoming familiar and conversant with Sales Prospecting as per the SGS policies and procedures.
Monthly Sales Report.
Follow up on Sales Needs Analysis.
Promote the image, capability and integrity of SGS to our clients.

SPECIFIC AUTHORITIES
Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or enter hazardous environments without the necessary knowledge and protection and report the situation to higher authority to take action.
Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report the situation to higher authority to take action.
Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified.

EDUCATION

 

Professional Education preferably in the area of automobile dealers or comparable experience in an automotive environment.



EXPERIENCE
Knowledge and experience of processes within an automotive dealership, including the sales and repair service process.
Understanding of the layout of dealership facilities and basic processes (sales, aftersales, repair).
Experience in Automotive Standards and OEM Requirements to dealers of advantage.
Experiences in testing and /or auditing processes and systems, preferably at automotive dealers.
Knowledge of legal situation and business related processes in workshops and the relation between AR’s and OEMs.
Have six years full time appropriate practical experience in an organization, meeting the applicability of the Transportation Industry.

This is a field position requiring extensive travel (> 70%)Good communication and Interpersonal skills
