POSITION SUMMARY

Acts as a liaison for contact between clients, laboratory management, and department personnel. Also responsible for entering test samples into LIMS (Lab Management Information System), building/proofing reports, direct client communication and other tasks within the Client Support department.


JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Inspects incoming samples and identifies/ separates rush samples. Maintains Master List and Rush List within LIMS.
  • Logs lab work instructions into LIMS.
  • Sends Sample Receipt Confirmations to clients.
  • Communicates directly with clients via phone and email, regarding questions, clarifications or discrepancies regarding incoming samples.
  • Builds analytical reports in LIMS.
  • Maintains good client relationships.
  • Responds promptly and professionally to inquiries from clients received via phone, email, website or social media tools.
  • Scans chains and saves documents to the mainframe computer server.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or related field of study, AND
  • 2-5 years of experience in a regulated commercial lab environment.
  • Language Skills: English
  • Mathematical Skills: Advanced level of math/algebra preferred – ability to perform conversions.
  • Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Intermediate level required.
  • Computer Skills: Advanced level of Office 365 applications (Word/Excel) required; experience with LIMS preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required for customer interaction.
