  • This position reports to the Global Head of Travel and Hospitality Solutions.
 
Primary Responsibilities 
  • Primarily responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for SGS Travel and Hospitality services in the Asia and Pacific region. This will require the individual to build strong relationships and networks with key stakeholders like: Regional Hubs of Hotel Groups, Tour Operators, Professional / Membership Organizations for Tourism, Key Government Offices, relevant SGS affiliates (their Business Development / Sales / Marketing Team and their Decision Makers), and other Industry partners.
 
Specific Responsibilities
  • Supports the Global Travel and Hospitality (T&H) Team in formulating and implementing its short and long term road map.
 
  • Implements the Regional Sales Strategy for Asia and the Pacific by:
    • Sourcing for potential Regional (Group) Opportunities
    • Meeting, presenting SGS, and understanding the pain points of these groups in order to recommend and push for an SGS solution that could transform into a Regional or local contract.
    • Crafting Regional and Global T&H proposals / contracts and following through until closure / non-closure.
       
  • Supports the Global T&H (and region) in designing launching, rolling out, and maintaining new products within the APAC region on the levels of Product Briefing, Networking events, Training and Development, and facilitation of various tools (Sales or Marketing).
 
  • Works with Global Marketing Team in ensuring that the marketing materials that are rolled out are aligned with the Region’s needs.
 
  • Monitors Regional T&H sales pipeline and metrics (proposals, contracts, leads, etc.), and reports it regularly (quarterly) during Global T&H reviews, and supports the assigned affiliates as needed.  
 
  • Complies with the QHSE policies including but not limited to:
  • Demonstrates strong commitment to SGS QHSE Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions by participating in safety meetings, completing required training, intervening in unsafe situations, refusing unsafe work, and complying fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to QHSE.
     
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations and assists other staff members in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within the workplace.
     
  • In accordance with the SGS QHSE Management System requirements, disposes of, or directs the disposal of, waste generated as a part of daily work performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all waste transportation and disposal regulations and requirements.
     
  • Reports all incidents (actual incidents and near misses) in accordance with the SGS Incident Reporting requirements.
     
  • Uses all equipment (including safety equipment) in the manner intended and reports any damaged / lost equipment to Division Manager.
     
  • Maintain a safe and tidy worksite.
     
  • Maintains awareness of hazards and proposes controls to Division Manager, QHSE Representatives or relevant client / site contact.
     
  • Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management.
Profile
  • College graduate of any 4-year business course
  • MBA Degree preferred
  • Preferably with a reasonable understanding of the Travel and Hospitality Industry and SGS Services
 
Required Experience / Competencies
Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in Sales Management, Product Development or Business Development
  • With strong foundation on dealing with various cultures
Competencies:
  • Must have the following behavioural competencies: Customer Focus, Analysis / Problem assessment, organization and communication skills, teamwork, computer skills, Leading Change, Adaptability and Problem Solving and Decision Making.  
  • Must have the following technical competencies: Business and Strategic Planning, Basic Marketing, Financial Management, Business Development, and Networking.
Language
  • English
  • Preferably can speak and understand Mandarin
