HSE&Q Coordinator



  • Responsible for maintaining ISO 17025 & ISO 14001 management systems for Aurora and satellite sites.
  • Responsible for all maintaining all quality procedures in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and ISO standards.
  • Performing JHA’s, JSA’s, Audits, Risk Assessments and a variety of other safety and quality activities as needed and as assigned.
  • Responsible for integrating new equipment and procedures into the ISO quality system.
  • Responsible for managing and improving Gauge Pack (Calibration and Preventive Maintenance scheduler).



·         Reports to the HSE&Q Manager   


  • Inspects work sites, machinery, equipment, or insured properties for hazards, violations, and conformance with governmental standards.
  • Analyzes unsafe conditions and assigns rating according to established factors.
  • Observes work activities and practices to determine compliance with safety precautions and safety equipment used.
  • Evaluates voluntary compliance and effectiveness of safety program, using established goals.
  • Confers with management to ensure compliance with regulations and demonstrate use of safety equipment and first aid procedures.
  • Recommends changes in policies and procedures to prevent accidents and illness.
  • Investigates accidents to ascertain causes and analyzes history of accidents and claims to develop accident-prevention programs.
  • Prepares written reports on hazards, near miss, and incidents .
  • Maintains records and prepares reports of findings, violations, and recommendations for corrective action .
  • Develops and conducts training to promote health and safety, safe operation of equipment, and compliance with precautions and control hazards.
  • Prepares written procedures and documents, processes and job aids as directed.
  • Communicate safety policies and work instructions to all employees and visitors.
  • Ensure all new hires receive safety orientation and complete all training. Be the resource for safety and quality and assist the team toward safety and quality excellence.
  • Communicate ISO policies and work instructions to all employees on site.
  • Evaluate and update any ISO process or work instructions for facility for effectiveness.
  • Communicate with all accreditation bodies concerning our ISO certs.
  • Perform onsite audits of our ISO systems both Quality and Environmental .
  • Submit all federal, state, and city required documents related to environmental and safety .
  • Responsible researching/implementing new federal/state/city regulations for facility to ensure site is compliant with any new/update requirements.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.


  • Must have a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of demonstrated work experience in the area of health, safety and environment; OR, 4 years of demonstrated work experience in the area of health, safety and environment.
  • Must have at least 1 year of demonstrated ISO work experience.
  • Certification in health, safety or environmental preferred.
  • Certification in ISO helpful.
  • Familiar with business metrics and statistics.
  • Ability to approach problems in a scientific manner and implement resolutions with minimal guidance.

  • Expert knowledge of quality management principles.
  • Able to use motorized equipment to move vehicles and materials.
  • Able to bend, squat, lift up to 50 lbs. Stand or sit for up to two hours.
  • Use an MS Windows based computer including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Able to read and interpret data to participate in data quality review.
  • Understanding of Federal regulations for emissions testing (CFR 40 Parts 1066 or 1065) Preferred.



  • Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy worksite.
  • Demonstrates strong commitment to SGS HSE Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions by participating in safety meetings, completing required training, intervening in unsafe situations, refusing unsafe work, and complying fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to HSE.
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations and assists other staff members in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within the workplace.
  • In accordance with the SGS HSE Management System requirements, disposes of, or directs the disposal of, waste generated as a part of daily work performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all waste transportation and disposal regulations and requirements.
  • Reports all incidents (actuals and near misses) in accordance with the SGS Incident Reporting requirements.
  • Uses all equipment (including safety equipment) in the manner intended and reports any damaged/lost equipment to supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy worksite.
  • Maintains awareness of hazards and proposes controls to supervisor, HSE Representatives or relevant contact.
  • Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management.


  • Valid driving license .
  • Ability and willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must successfully pass drug screen and background check.
