Job Summary:

This role will help the lab and Sales Excecutives prioritize efforts to SGS's client base. This position interacts primarily with SGS's current clients with the goal of maintaining and growing existing work and uncovering any potential new opportunities within the existing client base. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Retain and grow existing account base through the identification of new opportunities and exploring potential cross selling.
  • Arrange and participate in internal/external discussions on client debriefs.
  • Ensure communication and coordination with Sales and the labs to facilitate the successful handover and execution of the new acquired business.
  • After issuance, follow up on transactional quotes through their close and document properly. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams e.g. technical groups, sales, etc. to develop presentations, proposals, etc. that will address the clients needs, objectives and goals. 
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet client demands. 
  • Ensure that any client complaints are forwarded to the appropriate individual(s) and ultimately resolved in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Follow up on "cold" clients, with a focus on clients that have submitted samples in the last two years
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist sales in planning approaches and pitches to cross sell SGS's small molecule and biopharmaceutical suite of global and regional services.
  • Report on developments in the market place and competitor activities.
  • Provide competitive pricing to laboratory Business Managers to assist in pricing structure decisions.
  • Identify potential clients and decision makers within the client organization, perform needs analysis, identify opportunity and follwo up with potential customers.
  • Follow up on all marketing leads and website inquiries.
  • Cold calls and emails, as appropriate, within the given geographic market to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.

 


Education, Required Skills & Competencies:
  • Four year degree in relevant field i.e. business, marketing, life sciences. Masters degree preferred (MBA, MS)
  • Business development experience with pharmaceuticals and/or related industry.
  • Very high level of written and verbal English.
  • Background in biopharma/biotech preferred. 
  • Ability to manage relationships under pressure.
  • Must have an understanding of Microbiology and Analytical Chemistry.
  • Effective negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Self motivated and able to achieve shared goals.
