A day in the life of an SGS IT Co-op Student:

• Providing users with systems support
• Troubleshoot, install, configure software
• Troubleshoot hardware including PC/LT and Citrix environment
• Updating and maintaining hardware inventory and computer supplies
• Configure, deploy desktops, laptops, terminals and VoIP phones
• Assist with installation of lab equipment applications
• Photocopiers / printers
• Applications support (LIMS, Big Machines, StoreIT, ShipIT, etc.)
• Security system, ID cards
• Exposure to Nagios, Hyper-V virtualization, SQL Server, Cisco, etc.
• Identify topic for technical report, research independently and receive assistance from local IT staff

Ideal Candidate:

• Education: Enrolled in computer related program at the College or University level.
• Experience: Working knowledge of computer hardware, Microsoft Office.
• Specific technical skills: Knowledge of Windows XP/7 PCs, networked printers and photocopiers and Microsoft Office 2003/2007 Suite.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
• Proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
• Ability to work well with others & independently.
• Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
