The main responsibility of this role is to manage projects related to IoT / Real-Time Continuous Environmental, Health & Safety Monitoring services for clients including:

    • Oversight of Calibration and Maintenance of physical units;  
    • Management of the deployment and receipt of physical units 
    • Maintain Database Tools for data delivery to clients including all database / dashboard configurations; 
    • Assist internal / external clients in all elements of successfully operating monitoring systems.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following activities:
  • Assist in creating a company strategy for providing IoT Continuous Monitoring services to clients;
  • Calibrate and configure equipment to client specifications;
  • Repair equipment, perform quality control;
  • Manage equipment pools;
  • Satisfies all daily prep requests including QC of requests;
  • Design, manage and support data dashboard deliverables and associated project workflows for analysing continuous monitoring data;
  • Provides total client responsiveness;
  • Responsible for liaising with clients in order to have a full understanding of project requirements, and documenting requirements accordingly;
  • Carry out project work including development and creation of analytical data outputs and reports to complement and assist with wider objectives on client EHS projects;
  • Responsible for continually looking for ways to improve processes;
  • Answers technical questions posed by clients and other employees.
  • Attends data integrity training and signs off acknowledging understanding and responsibility therein;
  • Ensures cleanliness of work area, instruments and supplies;
  • Responsible for the timely response to all e-mail, voicemail, verbal and written requests;
  • Performs training for all devices and data analysis deliverables to clients and technicians (may involve some travel);
  • Follows all guidelines for acceptable quality control, investigates quality control failures and rectifies problems and brings any discrepancies to their supervisor’s attention;
  • Initiates corrective action requirements as required;
  • Maintains instruments and follows preventive maintenance schedules;
  • Review, schedule and prioritize workload, perform preventive maintenance and monitor instrument capability, ensure that all QC procedures are followed and that they meet necessary criteria;
  • Operates within the guiding principles of the company;
  • Other duties as assigned; 
  • Adopt a safe behaviour by exercising due regard for the Health & Safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures; 
  • Comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.

 

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences and/or Engineering in the related technical field with knowledge of database management;  
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the related field (project management, databases, remote monitoring, etc); 
  • Languages: Fluent in English and the language of allocated territory. Multiple language proficiency would be an advantage.
