Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for generating and closing sales specific to the area of Electronics, in accordance to SGS sales strategies and individual targets.
  • Responsible for selling Restricted Substance Testing Services to US customers for testing.
  • Assigned and/or targeted customer channels will include clients in the specified industries within Electrical and Electronics. 
  • Responsible for effective and professional relationships and close cooperation with key internal customers and support teams, including client services, global sales, technical teams, and operations.
Specifically These Responsibilities Are To:
  • Execute sales to U.S.-based customers within channels described in primary responsibilities above.
  • Visit potential customers to prospect for new business.
  • Cultivate leads and opportunities in the Restricted Substance Testing Services – Chemistry Testing
  • Sales should focus on services such as Regulatory compliance including US, Europe and other global markets including but not limited to; IEC 62321 (ROHS), REACH, SVHC, Prop 65, and general chemical compliance
  • Attend and support trade show and technical events.
  • Develop working knowledge of SGS services to fully present SGS capabilities and close sales.
  • Develop and issue proposals, negotiating fees, terms and conditions as necessary.
  • Secure appropriate legal documents for client relationship, including non-disclosure agreements, service agreements, and statements of work.
  • Work to fully qualify all opportunities for sales to accounts in assigned channels.  Develop close cooperation with client’s service team to insure ease and transparency of client information and requirements.
  • Responsible key sales administrative functions:  Call reports, pre- and post- tradeshow reports, sales reports, maintenance of all data in CRM platform, and other reports/presentations as may be required by management.
  • Other duties assigned as necessary in response to business needs.
Preferred background: 
  1. Position in sales with third-party quality/testing companies; Restricted Substance Testing experience a plus but other areas of sales is still welcomed
  2. Position in regulatory compliance area for an electronics manufacturer responsible for areas such as Product Compliance, Engineering, Product Certifications, etc.  
  3. Chemical testing or sales background is a strong asset.  General knowledge of chemistry or related sciences is needed.
  • Highly motivated; self managed and responsible to targets and goals.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and plans to expand business within assigned territory; maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Ability to establish effective working and team relationships with internal and external customers, works in a collaborative manner.
  • Ability to interface with supply chain senior managers and other customer structures.
  • Capable of building trust, value others and communicate effectively.
  • Customer focused, high integrity, excellent work ethic.
  • Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to customer locations throughout the US and assigned territory.  Travel could be 50-75% of the time. 
  • Customer focused.
  • Position can be located remotely in the United States and may or may not be required to report to the nearest office.  
  • All areas of US are welcomed to apply however the western US region is preferred but not required.

    Skills:
    • Proven sales performer in the Industry.
    • Strong people skills, including cross-cultural sensitivities.
    • Ability to work effectively with internal customer teams.
    • Proven analytical and problem solving abilities.
    • 4 Year Degree in Business or Sciences or industry experience is required
    • Strong written and spoken English skills, other languages skills a strong plus.
    • Persuasive, diplomatic, but always to the point; strong ability to sell a concept.
    • Hands-on, open-minded, proactive team player
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
