Profile:

·         B.S. Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)

·         M.S. Engineering preferred

·         Minimum five years’ relevant experience with expertise in engine/vehicle testing procedures and technology

·         Experience with leadership, coaching, and mentoring experience with focus on employees’ development

·         Outstanding computer skills and computer programming skills

·         Ability to approach problems in a scientific manner and complete tasks with minimal guidance

·         Desire to work in Columbus, IN area

·         Willing to travel up to 10% of the time

 

Required Skills:

·         Outstanding leadership experience and abilities, comfortable in dealing with varied engineers’ personalities providing coaching, mentoring, support to those in his/her group as well as others in the organization

·         Outstanding computer skills and computer programming skills

·         Strong Verbal & Written Communication skills

·         Desire to work in fast-paced, rapidly changing and results’ oriented environment

·         High ability to manage time to prioritize competing tasks and demands being able to successfully resolve them

·         Ability to approach problems in a scientific manner and implement resolutions with minimal guidance

·         Ability to effectively communicate and articulate ideas, operational, and test quality issues to engineers and managers

·         Ability to diagnose test operations problems using scientific principles and lead team to implement effective solution

·         Subject matter expert for engine testing, focused on performance and exhaust emissions

·         Be accountable for meeting engine test and development project objectives and meeting quality objectives

·         Expert knowledge of engine operation and controls for exhaust emissions (gasoline, diesel, natural gas)

·         Working knowledge of engine calibration software and hardware tools

·         Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy worksite

·         Demonstrates strong commitment to SGS HSE Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions by participating in safety meetings, completing required training, intervening in unsafe situations, refusing unsafe work, and complying fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to HSE

·         Responds quickly to emergency situations, assisting staff in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies

·         In accordance with SGS HSE Mgmt. System requirements, disposes, or directs the disposal of waste generated daily, in compliance with all waste transportation and disposal regulations and requirements

·         Reports all safety incidents (actuals and near misses) in accordance with SGS Incident Reporting requirements

·         Uses all equipment (e.g.: safety-related) as intended, reporting damaged/lost equipment to supervisor

·         Maintains awareness of hazards & proposes controls to supervisor, HSE representative, relevant client/site contact

·         Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management

 

Other Information:

·         Valid driving license

·         Ability and willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice

·         Reliable transportation

·         Must successfully pass drug test and background check
