Job Title: Technical Assistant
Job Type: Permanent
Hours:  37.5 hours per week
Job Location: Ashby de la Zouch
Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum
 
As a Technical Assistant you will be responsible for the initial technical check of online specifications and reporting any non-compliance issues against customer policies. Key Accountabilities will include:- 
  • Checking of specification against client policies with attention to detail to produce quality accurate work in the agreed timescales.
  • Raising and chasing non compliances to ensure approval or other action required to close any non-compliances raised
  • Liaising directly with internal colleagues, clients and suppliers to resolve any issues and explaining policies.
  • Keeping up to date with clients’ policies
  • Assisting and supporting the technologist with reporting and other projects as requested by the senior technologist/team leader.
  • Supporting senior technologist in constantly driving improvements of the process.

YOUR PROFILE
 
Essential 
  • Possess excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively.
  • Have good IT skills, including competent use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to maintain good working relationships at all levels.
  • Previous food industry background- ideally food manufacturing or quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of HACCP.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Management for Manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Solid technical background with hands on experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Calm and collective under pressure.
  • Use of Microsoft office.
  • Formal Food hygiene/Science Qualification
