PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate and capitalize on new sales and business opportunities in order to meet required revenue targets within defined areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare individual sales and marketing programs and action plans in line with the overall business strategy to ensure a targeted and focused approach that consistently contributes to the overall growth objectives of the business.
  • Meet assigned sales targets as set by the Business Director and Sector Manager/Sales Manager.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In conjunction with overall sales strategy, create sales and marketing plans to grow SGS revenue for designated industry, market segment, accounts and/or geographical location.
  • Identify, research, plan contact potential clients to establish new business in order to achieve targeted revenue growth
  • Anticipate, identify, and understand client’s needs and concerns and translate those into sales opportunities
  • Prepare service proposals, service agreements, and tenders customized to client’s requirements within set deadlines
  • Ensure accurate, timely submission of all information as requested by clients up in a professional manner, ensure follow
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports (Weekly Activity Plan and Weekly Activity Report) of sales activities, especially client visits/calls
  • Resolve customer complaints by addressing the root cause of the problems, facilitating the development of solutions with the team, preparing reports and making recommendations to managers
  • Monitor customer satisfaction
  • Maintain positive relationships with current and potential clients through regular contacts
  • Liaise with technical/operations teams to ensure excellent communication channels exist to facilitate the successful handover and execution of the new and current business.
  • Support marketing strategy and business development teams as appropriate
  • Monitor market trends and competitor’s strategies, activities and pricing  
  • Assist in invoicing and provide support to collection as determined by the Business Director.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of all SGS services, ensuring that the full range of SGS services are presented to new and existing clients to maximize sales opportunities
  • Forward potential opportunities to other Business Lines as appropriate and promote collaboration to ensure successful conversion.  
  • At all times, adopt a safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures
  • At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned either in support of departmental goals or for his/her personal or professional training, education or development as programmed by his/her immediate superior.
  • Complies with the QHSE policies including but not limited to:

o    Demonstrates strong commitment to SGS QHSE Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions by participating in safety meetings, completing required training, intervening in unsafe situations, refusing unsafe work, and complying fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to QHSE.

o    Responds appropriately to emergency situations and assists other staff members in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within the workplace.

o    In accordance with the SGS QHSE Management System requirements, disposes of, or directs the disposal of, waste generated as a part of daily work performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all waste transportation and disposal regulations and requirements.

o    Reports all incidents (actual incidents and near misses) in accordance with the SGS Incident Reporting requirements.

o    Uses all equipment (including safety equipment) in the manner intended and reports any damaged / lost equipment to supervisor.

o    Maintain a safe and tidy worksite.

o    Maintains awareness of hazards and proposes controls to supervisor, QHSE Representatives or relevant client / site contact.

o   Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management

PROFILE

·         College graduate of any the following Agribusiness/Business Management, Agriculture, Food Science/technology, Chemical or related course.

·         Experience in the related field is an asset.

·         A minimum of 3 years of experience in the sales field, with a successful track record.

 


 

Fluent in Filipino and high level of written and verbal English

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

Experience/Technical Knowledge

·         State of the art selling techniques and an ability to translate these skills into tangible results.

·         Extensive knowledge of the related field (stakeholders, trends/shifts, competitors, processes, regulatory frameworks).

·         Ensure new services are offered at acceptable margins within operational capacity.

·         Ability to write, appraise and negotiate detailed contracts and commercial agreements.

·         Ability to present detailed concepts to an audience or group of clients.

·         Ability to adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environment.

·         Ability to work under own initiative and with a high degree of autonomy.

·         Knowledge of IT systems, particularly MS Office applications.

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Team player.

·         Ability to listen and identify client needs and requirements.

·         Customer service oriented mindset.

·         Organization skills.

·         Accountability, results driven.

·         Exhibits enthusiasm and perseverance.

·         Ability to travel, sometimes at short notice.

·         Valid driver’s license is an advantage but not a requirement.

 

Language

·         Proficient in English & Filipino (both written and verbal).
