Primary Responsibilities:

n  A major focus of the job is the ability to understand the science behind the testing performed in order to effectively handle sales leads and turn leads into orders.  The job also involves shepherding orders from receipt to delivery, which includes documenting accurate job specifications, getting the order into the production schedule and keeping the customer informed and impressed with the service being provided. When needed, will provide back up by testing in the physical testing lab.

 

Specifically These Responsibilities Are To:

n     Interacting with clients to promote SGS services

n     Addressing customer questions and providing quotations for testing

n     Following projects from samples submission to report delivery to assure we are meeting clients’ expectations

n     Administrative tasks which include but are not limited to: sample entry into LIMS, quotations and log, CRM client entry and database maintenance, follow up on quotes.

n     Other tasks as assigned by management

n  A relevant associate’s or BS degree or equivalent experience in science, engineering, pulp and paper or related scientific field is preferred. Also will consider a Bachelor’s degree in business administration with marketing, business communications, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 3 to 5 years of customer service and marketing experience. 

n   Intermediate Excel and Word skills are required

n  Experience with Constant Contact and CRM’s a plus

n  Possible local travel but otherwise, travel is negligible.

n  PHYSICAL:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

u   Body Positions:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:  reach, stand, sit, stoop, lift.

u   Body Movements:  The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to handle, manipulate and feel objects, ability to move from one work center to another and to other departments. Bending, reaching, and crouching are sometimes required.

u   Body Senses:  Must have command of senses of sight, hearing, and touch. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

u   Lifting: May occasionally require ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

u   Standing:  May occasionally stand at laboratory station for extended periods of time for 5-6 hours per day.

n   Fluency in a second language would be a plus.
